How Much is the Joy of the Stadium?

On July 26, the worlds favorite sporting event to cool off the summer heat kicked off! This time, its in Paris, and the stadiums are as much the talk of the town as the games. Historic landmarks throughout the city have been transformed into stadiums to help tens of thousands of athletes perform at their best of abilities and to make cheering much more fun for the spectators. Hyundai E&C has also built various stadiums in Korea and abroad to cheer on the athletes and give fans a chance to enjoy the games in person. Here are some of our top stadiums!


Seoul Sports Complex Baseball Stadium 

Seoul Sports Complex Baseball Stadium  Also known as Jamsil Baseball Stadium, which opened in July 1982.  Its been nearly 40 years since Hyundai E&C built the stadium, but it remains the largest baseball stadium in Korea, with a capacity of 23,000 spectators. It is also home to two professional baseball teams, making it a historic landmark in Korean professional baseball.


Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium

Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium With a capacity of 67,000, this is the second-largest stadium exclusively used for soccer in Korea. The roof, which covers 87% of the four-sided grandstand, is designed to resemble an abstracted whale skeleton from the Bangudae Petroglyphs in Ulsan. It is supported by columns shaped like Silla gold crowns, hence the nickname “Big Crown”.


Busan Asiad Main Stadium

Busan Asiad Main Stadium The Busan Asiad Main Stadium features a wave-shaped roof that replicates the sea off the coast of Busan and a deck around the perimeter that resembles the rings of Saturn. All the installations, including the 48 columns representing accessibility from all directions, are curved, giving the stadium a stunning aesthetic look.


Incheon Asiad Main Stadium

Incheon Asiad Main Stadium The Incheon Asiad Main Stadium was designed with the themes of “light, wind, and dance”. Its walls feature a membrane structure that lets light filter through, and the gently curved façade creates a sense of movement. The interior has 32,000 adjustable seats that can be expanded to 100,000 seats if needed.


Gwangju-KIA Champions Field

Gwangju-KIA Champions Field Home to the Kia Tigers, a professional baseball team owned by Hyundai Motor Group! Designed with a spectator-friendly concept, the distance between the stands and the field was reduced by 2 to 7 meters. To attract visitors from all walks of life, Hyundai E&C actively gathered ideas from Gwangju citizens during the design process, resulting in 10 different types of event seating, including terrace seats, skyboxes, and family seats.


King Abdullah Sports City Stadium

King Abdullah Sports City Stadium Located in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia, this sports stadium was built by Hyundai E&C in just 35 months. It is the second largest stadium in Saudi Arabia, with a capacity of over 60,000 people, comparable to the Seoul World Cup Stadium. This project also marks a significant milestone for Hyundai E&C, as it represents the companys return to the Saudi Arabian construction market after 20 years.


Hammadi Agrebi Stadium

Hammadi Agrebi Stadium  Hyundai E&Cs first project in Africa, this sports center is located in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, North Africa. The complex features a main stadium with a capacity of 60,000 people, an indoor gymnasium, and a swimming pool. It serves as a venue for African soccer matches and international events in the Mediterranean region


Punggol Sports Center

Punggol Sports Center Punggol, located in the northeast of Singapore, is planned as a sustainable city focused on building an eco-town that utilizes renewable energy and recycled rainwater. Hyundai E&C has contributed to this vision by completing the Punggol Sports Center this year, which ranges from one basement level to six floors above ground.
