Q1. Please tell us about your job.

I am responsible for the submission of Technical Proposals, particularly for International Infrastructure projects. In most bidding processes, proposals are divided into three sections: administrative, economic, and technical. In the technical section, HDEC’s aim is to provide robust and feasible technical solutions that meet the client's specifications and requirements. Our project team’s goal is to demonstrate HDEC’s technical expertise and capabilities, and to provide, fit-for-purpose design / construction solutions, highlighting our extensive experience and successful track record in similar projects. By doing so, we aim to assure the client of our ability to deliver high-quality, efficient, and effective solutions for their infrastructure needs. In this process, I contribute to both the accurate and effective technical and formal quality of the content to ensure that our proposals are evaluated favorably against others.

Q2. What competencies do you need most in your job?

The first and most important skill is effective communication with goal driven attitude. Our clients, subcontractors, and consortium members come from various parts of the world, making it crucial to convey information and ideas clearly and efficiently. In addition to language skills, it is essential to consider cultural backgrounds and utilize all available tools to minimize communication gaps and prevent misunderstandings.

Finally, organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial. Proposals are evaluated based on points, so they must be free of errors and contain all necessary information. A meticulously prepared proposal reflects our professionalism and commitment to meeting the client's expectations.

This role provided me with invaluable insight into the client's perspective—what they prioritize, their expectations regarding document quality, and more. Subsequently, I transitioned to HDEC, where I played an important role in contract management for the Panama Line 3 Project. I gained hands-on technical experience in construction, encompassing knowledge of construction methodologies, QA/QC standards, safety protocols, and traffic management practices. These combined experiences have significantly enhanced my professional capabilities and has contributed to enrich the performance of my job.
