1  Hyundai E&C Leads Global Carbon Management : Industry’s First to Join CDP Platinum Club

Hyundai E&C has cemented its place as a global leading eco-friendly company. Korea’s foremost builder has entered the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Korea Hall of Fame in the CDP Climate Change for four consecutive years as well as joined the Platinum Club for the first time among domestic builders. Hyundai E&C received Leadership A for five years in a row from 2014. Since its first entry into the Hall of Fame in 2018, Korea’s primary builder has promoted globally recognized ESG management practices. Under a vision of the 2050 Global Green One Pioneer, Hyundai E&C has been implementing an environmental and energy management strategy in line with the government’s greenhouse gas reduction goal. The CDP Climate Change is recognized as one of the world’s most reliable sustainability evaluation indexes together with the DJSI.

 2  Tailwinds for business objectives : Hyundai E&C wins new orders in succession

Hyundai E&C is accelerating the pace to achieve its business goals by receiving new orders in succession in the domestic construction market.

Hyundai E&C has won a 302.4-billion-won project to redevelop Woori Apartment in Daegu Metropolitan City on January 28, solidifying Hyundai E&C's no.1 position for three consecutive years, which is the first of its kind in the domestic redevelopment market.

The Woori Apartment redevelopment project is designed to build 12 buildings of 35 floors above ground and three basement levels (1,107 units) and community facilities in Nam-gu, Dae-gu Metropolitan City. Hyundai E&C will name the new apartment complex Hillstate Regia Fore coined from two Latin words “régĭa” (a palace) and “foréstis” (a forest). Hyundai E&C will join hands with CRTKL, a global architecture, planning and design firm, to construct the apartment buildings embodying a “giant tree” through using curtain walls and aluminum panels, and provide a rooftop community facility and variously themed landscape spaces.

In addition, we have received an order to build the Hana Dream Town Group Headquarters and a deal to construct the Pacific Sunny Data Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. The Hana Dream Town Group Headquarters project valued at 453.0 billion won is aimed at building a head office of 15 floors above ground and seven basement levels, and the project is slated to be finished in January 2026. The smart office building, to be home to Hana Financial Group, KEB Hana Bank, KEB Hana Card, and Hana Financial Investment, will build on the combination of cutting-edge technologies. 

Meanwhile, the Pacific Sunny Data Center project is designed to construct a mega-scale data center of four floors above ground and four basement levels, which will be one of the biggest data centers in Korea. The construction worth about 535.4 billion won will commence in February 2022 and last for 28 months.

 3  Hyundai E&C wins two awards at the Asia Design Prize 2022

Cloud Walk Pavilion of THE H La Class and Lounge Garden of Hillstate Classian have won Gold Winner and Winner at the Asia Design Prize 2022, respectively.

Cloud Walk Pavilion, jointly designed by Dutch graphic designer Karel Martens and Korean architect Choi Jang-won, is a work of sculpture embodying cloud as well as a rest place for apartment residents. It also received the Architizer A+ Product Award last year.

Lounge Garden is a rest area linked to a community lounge.  Floating Stone, an artwork by Lee Tae-soo, is exhibited in a lawn at the middle of the garden, and it is surrounded by a white corridor pavilion.
