Hyundai E&C has been selected as a winner at the Red Dot Design Award 2024 for its landscape architecture, “Natural Tea House” and “THE H Garden” of “The H Firstier I-Park.”
The Red Dot Design Award is Germany’s leading design competition started in 1955. It is considered as one of the top three design awards in the world, along with the IDEA Awards in the US and the iF Awards in Germany. Every year, renowned design experts evaluate and select outstanding design products.
The Natural Tea House was designed in-house by Hyundai E&C. The nature-inspired Natural Tea House is reminiscent of a fairytale cottage. The design of the wooden A-frame cottage was chosen to create a natural atmosphere in the city center. The Natural Tea House is surrounded by a combination of hydroponics facilities and plantings that allow people to relax and enjoy the surrounding views.
[ THE H Garden ]
THE H Garden was designed to be a space where residents can feel closer to nature even in a large apartment complex. In this space, you’ll find flowers and trees scattered throughout the pathways, culminating in a small pagoda at the end. Residents can feel connected to nature as they watch the garden change with the seasons.
With this award, Hyundai E&C achieved the great feat of being the first Korean builder to have two winners on one construction site in the Red Dot Award, and to have won the world’s top three design awards for four consecutive years. Hyundai E&C has received IDEA award and iF award continuously from 2021 to 2023. This year, by winning even the Red Dot Award, the builder proved its global competitiveness in the field of landscaping.
In addition to the world’s top three design awards, Hyundai E&C has also performed well in various competitions, such as the Asia Design Prize, IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects), USA Good Design® Award, and Good Design (GD).
In February, H Eye Planter of Hillstate Yongin Dunjeon Station and the landscape of Hillstate Jije Station Firstium were named winners at the Asia Design Prize 2024. With this, the builder has won the Asia Design Prize for three consecutive years. In particular, the H Eye Planter, which utilizes 3D printing technology, won the award, marking the fourth consecutive year that 3D printed landscapes have won the award.
“As more residents want a comfortable living space, landscaping facilities are becoming increasingly important,” said a representative from Hyundai E&C. “Hyundai E&C will make efforts to make residents feel proud of their better living environment through landscaping facilities with differentiated technology and excellent design.”
