Hyundai E&C’s has received construction orders in succession in Peru amid the pandemic crisis.
Hyundai E&C has won the order to build the Chinchero New International Airport Passenger Terminal valued at 493 billion won from the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Peru. This is a follow-up project of the order for the Chinchero New Airport site preparation project clinched by our company earlier this year. Hyundai E&C’s formed a joint venture with global companies such as Sinohydro, ICA and HV Contratistas to successfully land the order for the construction of the Chinchero New International Airport Passenger Terminal.
This project was intended to build an international airport which can serve 5.7 million travelers on an annual basis. The new airport will be located in Chinchero, 15 kilometers northwest of Cusco, a gateway to Machu Picchu which is a globally famous historic site for Inca civilization. The new international airport will have cutting-edge, eco-friendly aviation facilities such as terminal buildings, control towers, runways and aprons. The construction period is 47 months. Our company adopts fast-track construction as a project delivery strategy in which the design and construction are conducted simultaneously. In addition, Hyundai E&C’s plans to digitalize the entire construction process ranging from design and construction to maintenance by introducing the state-of-the-art building information modelling (BIM) technology.
