This is an extension project of a QC laboratory used for inspecting self-manufactured products within the *XLPE(cross-linked polyethylene) production facility in the Borouge Petrochemical Complex of Ruwais Industrial Complex, about 250 km west of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. It involves constructing a plant producing XLPE, by adding additives and dicumyl peroxide using LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) as a feed stock.

BRG3 XPLE Project


It is used for insulators of ultra-high voltage power cables, and the value of the product varies greatly depending on the XLPE grade, and the Borouge 3 XLPE site began construction with the aim of producing the highest grade XLPE. XLPE produced in the field is based on a thermo-conductive material for power cables, and the quality of power cables is determined by the purity of the thermo-conductive material. Therefore, a certain level of cleanliness is required for product purity management, and Licensor (Borealis) Sweden XLPE plant is the only plant in the world that produces XLPE of quality targeted by our project (above 161 KV).

In particular, Clean Piping Fabrication was conducted by operating a Clean Piping Workshop capable of controlling dust, temperature and humidity. After installing a large bin, breathing filter was maintained, and preservation to minimize internal condensation and contamination inflow through PE film cover and metal sheeting cover at all nozzles was implemented to meet the demanding quality requirements of the client.
