Penang Bridge in Malaysia is the second overseas bridge constructed by Hyundai E&C. With a total length of 13.5 km, including a sea section alone that spans 8.5 kilometers, it connects the Malaysian mainland to Penang Island. Upon its completion in 1985, the bridge was recorded as the longest in Asia and the third longest in the world. The Penang Bridge features a 440m cable-stayed section, while the remaining sections are built as PC concrete girder bridges. It celebrated its historic opening in 1985.
