Founded in 1977 by the late Chairman Jung Ju-young, the ASAN Foundation has established general hospitals in medically underserved areas with the philosophy of "helping the most underprivileged in our society". Among these, Asan Medical Center in Seoul is notable for its design, which emphasizes spacious green areas and a human-scale approach, making the medical environment more accessible to patients and visitors alike. The hospital enhanced convenience by introducing a computerized medical information system, which was unheard of at the time, to handle the entire process, including reservations, consultations, admissions, and discharges. Hyundai E&C contributed to the birth of South Korea's largest hospital, a key institution in the country's medical advancements, by first constructing the West Wing, followed by the East Wing in 1995 and the New Building in 2008.
